Bluesfest continue to broaden their 2017 roster, today announcing that British ska legends Madness will join the diverse line-up, which already includes Patti Smith, Neil Young, Zac Brown Band, Barry Gibb and Billy Bragg.
Madness, while active almost continually since the mid-70s, recently returned to the top of the charts with their their eleventh studio album, Can't Touch Us Now, entering the UK top five.
They join other new Bluesfest line-up additions including Miles Electric Band — featuring several members of the Miles Davis alumni — as well as California funk outfit Slightly Stoopid, iconic indie band The Mountain Goats, American folk singer Rhiannon Giddens, plus Tony Joe White, Max Jury, Trevor Hall, The Record Company and The California Honeydrops.
Organisers have also added a second Patti Smith set to the schedule, performing an acoustic set on Friday, April 14th, in addition to playing Horses in its entirety on Thursday, April 13th. Billy Bragg has also signed up for a second set, collaborating with Joe Henry for what's being described as "a celebration of the great American railroad".
Full details of the line-up for the Easter long weekend festival, as well as tickets and camping info, is available via the official festival website.
